Raichur:
Minister for Minor Irrigation and Science and Technology, N.S. Boseraju, inspected the ongoing airport construction works at Yaramaras village on the outskirts of Raichur on Saturday. The inspection was aimed at reviewing the progress of the long-pending project and ensuring that the work is carried out as per the approved plans and timelines.
During the visit, officials briefed the Minister on the current status of land development, runway preparation, terminal-related works, and supporting infrastructure. The Minister examined detailed project maps and interacted with engineers and contractors at the site to understand technical aspects and bottlenecks affecting the pace of construction.
Mr. Boseraju emphasized the importance of completing the airport project at the earliest, stating that it would play a crucial role in boosting connectivity, trade, investment, and overall development of Raichur district and the surrounding Kalyana Karnataka region. He directed officials to maintain quality standards and ensure transparency in execution while addressing any land acquisition or logistical issues promptly.
The Minister also highlighted that improved air connectivity would benefit industries, education, healthcare access, and tourism, besides creating employment opportunities for local youth. He assured that the State government would extend all necessary support to expedite the project.
Senior district officials, representatives from the aviation and public works departments, engineers, and local leaders accompanied the Minister during the inspection. The visit concluded with instructions to submit regular progress reports and adhere strictly to the project schedule.
